First annual Schoenbrunn Village Trade Fair

The First Annual Schoenbrunn Village Trade fair was last weekend, October 17Th and 18Th, 2009. Despite the rainy and cold temperatures, it was a great success. For those who don't know about the Village, here is a short history:

Schoenbrunn Village is a recreated 18Th Century Delaware Moravian settlement founded in 1772. It was in existence thru 1777 when, at that time, the British Forces in America, moved the inhabitants to Fort Detroit for "safety" reasons. The original Village boasted 60 buildings and 300 inhabitants at it's peak.

Our Trade Fair uses the site for the event which has 17 reconstructed log homes, Church, and school house. The Trade Fair recreates a Frontier Fair circa 1750 thru 1789. The event is juried, meaning every participant and vendor must submit photos of their camp, clothing, and wares to sell and have them all approved by the jury committee. In this way, the public will be able to see completely authentic life and goods from the 18Th Century Frontier.

Next years event will be held the weekend of October 16th. and 17th, 2010. If you are interested in attending as a participants or trader, check out our web site at: www.schoenbrunnvillagefair.org

The site will be updated with the revised jury rules, dates, and application shortly. Feel free to ask questions and post your comments.
